Elmwood, built by Loyalist Thomas Oliver in 1767. Later a residence of Vice President Elbridge Gerry and lifelong home of the poet James Russell Lowell (1819-1891). Today it is the official residence of the President of Harvard University, Drew Gilpin Faust.
